-- A U.S. Marine Corps veteran who was reported missing late last year was possibly spotted as recently as Thursday, police said.
The Highland Park Police Department said it received tips that Adam Sharp, a former Edison resident, could be in the Fords section of Woodbridge.
Authorities searched the New Brunswick Avenue-area in Fords, but didn't find him, the department said.
Investigators did find a store owner who said they saw a man matching Sharp's description as recently as Thursday near Quick Check on New Brunswick Avenue.
Police described the missing man as having a full beard, jacket and wearing pajama pants.
A family member told NJ Advance Media Sharp served in Afghanistan and grew up in Edison. He later moved to North Carolina and was in New Jersey to visit family during the holidays.
He may be walking to his home in North Carolina, his sister-in-law Samantha Johnson said in an interview last month.
