The Virginia election loss of Ed Gillespie showed voter frustration with our do-nothing Congress, not frustration with the hard-working President Donald Trump, who is making America great again. The Virginia GOP must rebuild with the president’s help and elect Corey Stewart for senator in 2018. He is the best hope Republicans have to drain the swamp of Northern Virginia and represent true conservative values.

America became highly vulnerable during the eight disastrous years of President Obama. Our military was reduced, our allies betrayed and our enemies appeased. We lost our global leadership and threats from overseas have put our homes and communities in harm’s way.

National security problems such as the approval by Secretary of State Hillary Clinton of the sale of 20 percent of our uranium reserves to Moscow must be investigated. Now Russian nuclear submarines patrol off the East Coast and Red China is illegally fortifying islands in the South China Sea.

Democratic politicians who fight the efforts of Mr. Trump to give our servicemen and -women the weapons, spare parts and support they need to win in combat must be addressed.

Our main enemy is not climate change, it is our security. Let’s put it above big-government spending and taxpayer-funded handouts. We must not endanger our troops by sending them into combat with obsolete equipment, fake rules of engagement and dangerous, micromanaged legal restrictions.
